Abstract
Macpherson has developed a totally new product in its London laboratories (See “Comment” February), which enables plastic components to be painted in an entirely different way to that currently in use. The cost of the process is typically one quarter of that of the existing method, the cycle time a small fraction, and the reject level typically one twentieth of the current level. The performance of the painted components is much higher with the new process in respect of adhesion and resistance to stone‐chipping. The product has been readily accepted by the World's Automotive Manufactures, and has been licensed to the second largest U.S. paint company, recently merged with I.C.I. to form the World's largest paint company.

Abstract
The name Bentley is forever linked with the La Mans 24 heures Grand Prix d'Endurance. During a brief but glorious foray into racing, the marque scored five victories between 1924 and 1930, including a 1–2–3–4 walkover in '29 and created contemporary legends of its drivers, the ‘Bentley Boys’. In 1931, financial pressures forced the works team to withdraw from the racing scene, ending an illustrious era; the firm itself was acquired by Rolls Royce, who retained the name but discontinued the cars.

IT IS AXIOMATIC that journals like WORK STUDY leave politics severely alone. This is but sensible: whichever you praise, you will most certainly offend some of your readers. They are a cross‐section of the population and how they think (or vote) is their own business. It is not ours to inquire, nor, most certainly not to condemn.

Abstract
WE MAKE NO apologies for taking Thomas Paine's classic title for our leader this month. Written all but 200 years ago, it was brought vividly to mind when we read letters in a contemporary journal. From two well‐qualified men in their early fifties, they regretted they could obtain no replies to many applications for employment. They were, all too evidently, considered “too old at 50'.
